Our story
Aluma Baby was started by a very proud auntie.
It began with my nieces and nephews. Every time a new little one arrived, I'd go searching for the softest, cosiest gift I could find.
So I started Aluma: a little shop full of the things new families actually reach for every day. Nothing fussy, just the little must-haves.
Why Aluma?
Aluma means a sheaf of grain, a bundle, from a root meaning to bind or tie together.
When a baby is born, all you want is to keep them cosy and close, bundled up and surrounded by the people who love them. That's what every Aluma piece is for.
What we look for in every piece
- Soft against delicate skin, and still soft after washing
- Easy for tired hands: zips and poppers for quicker changes
- Safe by design: no loose cords, no small decorations that can come off
- Calm, gentle colours that look lovely together
